RAE's Preformed Thermoplastic is a durable pavement marking system where thermoplastic rolls, lines, legends and symbols are supplied pre-cut and can be easily installed without specialized equipment. Preformed thermoplastic pavement marking materials combine the convenience of pre-cut markings with the performance qualities of hot applied thermoplastic.
Engineered for enhanced visibility both day and night, RAE's
preformed thermoplastic pavement markings are made with
Swarco's brilliant glass beads which are distributed throughout
the material during the manufacturing process.
With installation using just a propane torch, thermoplastic stopbars
to bike symbols have never been so EASY TO INSTALL!
The road surface should be pre-heated to approximately 275°F. The preformed thermoplastic should then be heated after being set in place to approximately 300°F, or until the thermoplastic begins to conform to the road surface underneath.
Note: Reversible Symbols are made with NO glass beads. Apply beads at time of application.
Unpackage the preformed thermoplastic and arrange adjoining pieces. Use inclosed diagram to arrange pieces. Glass beads side facing up.
Position all connecting parts onto previously cleaned or wept pavement and mark their position. Remove and pre-heat surface with torch.
Preheat surface to 275° F and replace markings into position immediately. Torch again from 8" above the surface until melted. Do not scorch.
